Kryptiva Packaging Server (KPS)

The KPS is the server-side of the Kryptiva Architecture. It acts as the plugin's backend, and provides outbound encryption and email signing services and enables inbound decryption.

The KPS is the key component required for sending Kryptiva email from within your network. It installs on a bare server or within a virtual machine and must be activated through an activation process, therefore allowing Kryptiva to authenticate your organization and validate its location. The KPS Platform Edition Activation Process is detailed here and requires that the organization installing the KPS obtain an SSL certificate from a recognized CA. The KPS Base Installation CD ISO image is available in the downloads section. Starting with the Base Installation CD and following the Activation Process will provide you with a fully-functional KPS Platform Edition installation, enabling your organization to enjoy the benefits of Kryptiva's encryption and authentication services.

Due to export control limitations, only U.S.- and Canadian-based organizations may activate their KPSes through the online process. If you are located elsewhere, please contact Kryptiva sales for information on how to obtain and activate the KPS Platform Edition.

	Infrastructure-Independent, yet On-Premise:
	The KPS sits inside your LAN. It does not require any modifications to existing network infrastructure and does not "phone home".
	Integrates with LDAP:
	By leveraging your existing directory infrastructure through LDAP, the KPS avoids the pains of key management while still providing the same level of control as systems requiring per-user key pairs or certificates.
	Stateless:
	Save for its initial configuration and its built-in two key pairs, which we recommend you backup after the installation, the KPS does not save any transient state. It is therefore easily duplicated, backed-up and restored.
	Failsafe:
	Because the KPS is out of the standard email stream, any failure or problem on it does not preclude continued operation of the existing email infrastructure. In fact, with or without the KPS, all emails continue transiting through the same existing emai infrastructure as before its installation.
	Extensible:
	The KPS is first installed through the Platform Edition. Once installed, various Add-Ons can be enabled allowing customers to leverage the full power of Kryptiva's Architecture. For more information on the Platform Add-Ons click here.
