KPS Activation Process
The following is a summary of the installation and activation process detailed in the Kryptiva
Packaging Server System Administrator Manual. You must be based in the U.S. or Canada for this
procedure to work. If you are located elsewhere, please

The KPS Base Installation:

1. Download the KPS Base Installation CD
|
|
|
The KPS Base Installation CD is available here.
|
|
|
2. Boot the KPS Base Installation CD on the system you'd like to install on.
|
|
|
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
|
|
|
By the end of this step you will be provided with a Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
|
Generating the Activation Request:
|
|
1. Obtain an SSL certificate.
|
|
|
Use the CSR provided to you by the KPS Base Installation Web Interface and obtain a valid
SSL certificate from one of the following CAs: Verisign, Entrust or Thawte.
|
|
|
2. Import the certificate into the KPS Base Installation Web Interface.
|
|
|
Having done this, you will obtain an Activation Request package.
|
|
|
3. Send the Activation Request package to activation@kryptiva.com.
|
Kryptiva's In-House Activation Process:
|
|
1. Kryptiva verifies that your Activation Request contains a valid certificate.
|
|
|
2. Kryptiva lists your organization's public key on its servers.
|
|
|
3. Kryptiva sends you your Activation Package
|
|
|
This Activation Package contains the actual cryptographic software that will enable your
KPS to interface with your users' Plugins.
|
Finalizing the KPS installation:
|
|
1. Upload the Activation Package to the KPS.
|
|
|
This will unlock the KPS configuration system.
|
|
|
2. Proceed with finalizing the KPS configuration
|
|
|
The configuration UI contains on-screen instructions for your convenience.
|
|
|
3. Deploy and configure the Kryptiva Packaging Plugin for your users.
